• What is Django
Django is Red Bull’s way of giving wings to your artistic inspiration. In this contest you’ll be asked to vote on your favorite submission, or submit your own artistic vision inspired in some way by Quentin Tarantino’s LATEST FILM: Django Unchained, coming to theaters this December. Contest winners will be flown out to San Diego Comic-Con 2012 to meet Quentin Tarantino and sit in on Django Unchained’s Q&A Panel.
  • What is an artistic vision?
Hard question, but we will try to explain.

You are making a music video, short film, trailer, trip-hop remix, minimalist mural, slideshow, PSA, or other pictures-and-or-sound content, and you want to get as many people on the internet to love it as possible. You get three minutes to show people something new, something that would excite aspiring filmmakers, Tarantino fans, and your aunt Betty who has way more friends than you on Facebook. If your submission follows the rules, we’ll share it with the world. And remember, if you win, you get to share it with Quentin Tarantino himself. Make it something he will remember. Do it for aunt Betty.

  • What can I win?
A grand-prize winner, a runner-up, and a fan favorite submission will all receive prizes, some of which are yet to be announced. Right now, all we can tell you is that our grand prize winner will receive an all-expenses paid trip to San Diego Comic-Con 2012, where they will get to meet Quentin Tarantino himself to share their winning creation and talk about whatever you filmmaker people talk about. We FAQ-writing people can only imagine what that might be.
  • When does the contest start?
On June 15, 2012, the contest goes live. Although you could start making something now, you are required to feature prominently in your submission at least one video clip AND ONE audio track (we call them “Django Assets”) that will only be announced and available for download starting on June 15th.
You have two weeks to edit, shoot, score, splice, choreograph, rotoscope, or swede your vision into reality, then upload it to our contest site.
  • How can I enter?
    a. Sign up now to be notified by email of contest updates, announcements of new prizes, and the download link for the Django Assets you have to include somehow in your submission.
    b. Come up with an amazing vision inspired by some part of the Django Assets you want brought to life.
    c. Make an image, audio, or video file (three minutes or less) where you share your idea.
    d. Between 6/15/12 and 6/30/12, upload your submission file. This submission will be featured on our gallery site, and in head-to-head competitions against other ideas.
    e. Share your submission’s link to earn more votes.
    f. Be 18 years of age or older, and live in the 50 UNITED States.
  • What are the submission Requirements?
    a. Share your big vision without putting yourself in the hospital. Take risks with your idea, not with blunt-force trauma.
    b. Your vision and the submission must be your own original creation. That means no violation of copyright laws. Besides the Django Assets, which you are specifically licensed to use for this contest, no music, brand names, signs, etc. that are not your own (or in the public domain). Check your t-shirt for that big corporate logo and cover it up. Unless that logo is Red Bull. We like that logo.
    c. Don’t violate any laws. We don’t want you to waste your cash prize on bail money.
    d. No more than three minutes long. We want to showcase your vision as an artist not your life story.
    e. Supported submission formats: JPG, PNG, GIF, WAV, MP3, H.264, MPEG, MP4, AAC, OGG, FLV, WMV, MOV, AVI, and 3GP.
    f. We will review your submission and let you know when it is available for public voting.
    g. See the complete contest rules for more details.
  • How do I submit my vision?
Upload it between June 15th and June 30th, and wait for our team to approve it for release and display on our site within the next 48 hours. You will be given a link you can share with your friends once your vision goes live.
  • How do I vote on submissions?
Every submission uploaded between June 15th and June 30th (once we approve that it isn’t all kinds of illegal to show on the internet) will be viewable on our main page, and can also be reached by a direct link you can share with your friends. Each account registered with our site, or logged in via Facebook, will be able to vote once per submission.
  • How do you pick the winner?
Quentin Tarantino and the fine folks over at The Weinstein Company are going to act as judges that will select the most innovative submissions at the same time that the whole world will be voting on their favorite submissions.
